The jazz singer Michael Finthammer, from the south of Dortmund, is back after the pandemic blues:

Michael, who was already seen and heard on television and radio with his jazz quartet in the 80s (see also YouTube), made studio and live recordings with the NDR Big Band, is taking off again after the pandemic waves!

Michael also uses his voice as a solo instrument (scat-vocal). Among other things, his unique "vocopete", a muted trumpet imitated with a head voice that is astonishingly faithful to the original in terms of tonal range and improvisation technique, is also inspiring.

As a guest singer, Michael is on the road in various formations and big bands.

Marc has been playing the piano since he was eight and caught fire when he first heard records by Erroll Garner and Oscar Peterson as a teenager. Keith Jarrett and Herbie Hancock were later added as major influences.

After studying at the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen, he has released seven albums to date and has toured in Europe, Lebanon and Mongolia. His "Jazz for the People" series, which has existed since 2013 and in which he appears with changing guest musicians, can now look back on more than 300 concerts.

Inspired by the soul jazz of the sixties, especially by recordings by Jimmy Smith, he has also been playing the Hammond - Organ passionately and spiritedly for several years.
